I know what you mean about not wanting to blow your one shot at the dream agents, but what happens if you do draw interest from the lesser ones and you never even tried the ones you really want?

Hi Gerry…I have kept you on my wl…and I’m wondering…is this the place to ask for a look at the rest of the book? (cheeky I know but you are my fav writer on site). If you have published already can you let me know where to find you. Been away from Authonomy for over a month and trying to catch up with everything (we got stuck in the States due to the wind ha-ha).

Jake is a sweetie!!! But he’s right. Not that you’re my dad but – I sense a hole getting deeper.
I really really want to see your story published!!!! Such a unique cast of characters and a lovely villain so long as I never ever meet him.
I’ve just sent my first suspense story to an e-publisher. Not the story you read, that’s still languishing. Now I wait and wait and wait…..

You are so right! The first time someone told me that there was no such thing as writer’s block (as a matter of fact, Gerry, I think it was you!), I got a little irritated. It certainly felt like something was blocking me. And there was: me. You make such wonderful valid points in this blog, and it feels like a much-needed smack in the face and a boot in the ass. I wish I would have read this much sooner; I probably would have finished my first draft long before now. Brilliant, you are. And yes, some of us are afraid of what our dear old mum would think!

Hi Leah. Quite write. There’s always something else to write; like a later chapter, a short story, or even a grocery list. I also get some of my best inspirations while out riding. Nothing like skimming along the road at high speeds to get your creative juices flowing.
